Looking Forward

Dear Alumni and Friends,

The Bangor Region Leadership Institute graduated its 14th class at the annual graduation and alumni dinner this month. Among their peers and alumni, members of the class of 2012 presented the work they completed with their nonprofit partners, Bangor Area Junior Achievement and Literacy Volunteers of Bangor. The effort and passion that each group put into advancing the mission of their nonprofit partners were outstanding. Their work over the past eight months speaks to the quality of this program.

The graduation dinner also serves as the ceremony for presenting the annual G. Clifton Eames Leadership Award. This year, the award was given posthumously to Gary Creaser, a BRLI alumnus who passed away unexpectedly last year. His dedication to BRLI and the community was resolute, which is why we were so pleased to present the award to his widow, Emma, who received a standing ovation. The sense of togetherness in the room was evident, illustrating that the alumni of BRLI are a community that sticks together and takes care of their own.

Want to be part of it all?

You can. BRLI is accepting applications for the 2012-13 program. Click here to download the application, the deadline for which is July 1st. Please let me or anyone on the Steering Committee know if you have any questions. We are looking forward to another great year of BRLI experiences.

Best,
