Jennifer Munson, Treasurer

Appointed to the Bangor Region Leadership Institute (BRLI) Steering Committee in August 2025, Jennifer Munson brings a deep commitment to community leadership and a passion for Maine’s history. A proud member of the BRLI Class of 2025, she looks forward to using her diverse career experiences to help BRLI continue to thrive and empower the region’s emerging leaders.

Born and raised in Springfield, Maine, Jennifer serves as the Executive Director of the Galen Cole Family Foundation and Cole Land Transportation Museum, where she leads the organization’s mission of honoring veterans, raising the aspirations of young people, and promoting literacy throughout Maine. Through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and educational initiatives, she works to extend the Foundation’s philanthropic impact while preserving and sharing Maine’s transportation and military heritage through the Museum. Under her leadership, the organization has expanded its community outreach, enhanced educational programming, launched popular new events, and achieved record-breaking museum attendance.

Jennifer holds both a B.A. and M.A. in History from the University of Maine. Her academic background, paired with her leadership in the nonprofit and cultural sectors, has fueled her drive to create meaningful impact across the Greater Bangor Region.

Outside of her professional work, Jennifer enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her loved ones. Some of her favorite destinations include Malaysia, Germany, and Dubai. She values connection, growth, and new experiences—and lives by the quote, “It’s not the destination, it’s the journey.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson.
